Summary: Plaintiff suffered a intrauterine fetal demise at term. Plaintiff had began to experience irregular contractions and decreased fetal movement. Defendant ordered her to have tested conducted at the hospital. The results of those tests showed no signs that the fetus was in distress. Plaintiff asserted that more test should have been conducted and that if they had been, a healthy baby could have been delivered by C-section. Defense contended that the fetus died due to an unpredictable umbilical cord accident sometime after the tests were performed.
