Summary: Plaintiff was admitted to Bethany Hospital with sever acute pancreatic, cholecystitis, and cholelithiasis. Dr. Butler performed an ERCP and stone extraction. During Plaintiff’s hospitalization she developed worsening malnutrition, her diabetes was never adequately controlled, had persistent elevated white blood cell counts and severe electrolyte disturbances and persistent hypocalcemia where were never corrected or resolved. Plaintiff died en route to hospital 6 days after her discharge from the hospital. Autopsy determined the cause of death to be peritoneum.
