Bob’s client, a resident of Antioch, was struck by a semi-tractor truck on Interstate 94. He suffered back and neck strain and some numbness in his right hand. The driver of the truck, an independent, over the road trucker, resided in Texas. However, since the accident happened locally, Bob was able to file suit here in Lake County, Illinois. Rather than having to travel back and forth for a court case, the driver of the big-rig decided to settle the matter out of court and agreed to settle for $25,000.
